Almost OTN - Vivian Hoxbro Kimono
My 'knitting pal' Luisa and I picked up Vivan Hoxbro kits during our visit to Stitches East in Baltimore this past November. I am making the Kimono jacket, and I think Luisa is making a straight jacket....no, not that kind of straight jacket....
There is a swatch tutorial in the pattern and I hope to cast on for that soon. The pattern calls for sz 2 - 3 mm needles. I am going to try knitting the swatch with my sz 3 Addi's. I hope to heck that I don't have to go down a needle size, because this will be a challenge to finish in a year on size 3's. I am making this is a purple/med green/lt green colorway. The original kit came with navy blue, but I decided to switch out the navy and use purple.
Vivian Hoxbro is the author of Shadow Knitting and Domino Knitting. I have both her books. Her website has a some really nice patterns, free ones too. http://www.viv.dk/English/default.htm The kits, complete with yarn and instruction can be ordered from Harrisville Designs http://www.harrisville.com/html/vivian.html
